Master Bathroom Revamp - Under $120

Over the long weekend, we spent time painting and revamping our master bathroom. We painted (FINALLY! - after nearly 3 years) and redecorated.

Of course if you know me, I wanted the bathroom to look nice, elegant and like a retreat. However, our master bathroom is not huge by any means and I didn't want to spend a fortune.

What Do you Think?

(I forgot to take a before picture so I had to use one from when we moved in).

Of course we had to have a TV in the bathroom. If you knew my husband you would totally get it (he does home audio video for a living).

Overall, I think it turned out great.

Now for the budget. Can you believe I did the whole bathroom redo for under $120.

The paint was Cathedral Gray by BEHR in a satin interior finish. It was $30 at Home Depot. ($35 minus 5 mail in rebate).

The decor, which included the shelves, the items on the shelves, new bathroom rug, shower curtain trash can, toothbrush holder and soap dispenser purchased at Target, and At home.

Overall, I am very pleased with how it turned out and that we stayed within budget.

Car Seat Deals at Target

Anyone who is in the market for a car seat will love this deal!

Target currently has several car seats on sale. In addition they have a cartwheel for an additional 20%. Plus, you can get an additional 5% off with a target red card.

I bought one yesterday and spent 127.99 on a $200 car seat. Score!

I've been waiting all week to go to Babies R Us for their trade in event but this deal actually ended up being better.

Hope you can find a great deals as well.

Free Budgeting Tool from Dave Ramsey

If you remember me talking about my goals for 2014, I want to take the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University. I love Dave Ramsey's teaching on money management and budgeting. I am working really hard to integrate more of them into our household. Right now, Dave is offering a free download of his budgeting guide. This is a great way to start thinking about how to have financial peace in your house.

Goals for 2014

I've never been a big resolutions person. I am however big on goals. Goals seem so much more defined.

  1. Write for my blog consistently.
  2. Finish my Master's Degree.
  3. Finish our basement without going into debt for it.
  4. Buy a new to us vehicle.
  5. Take Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University class.
  6. Follow the 52 week money saving challenge (I want to do this for two different accounts).
  7. Start living a healthier lifestyle.
  8. Adopt-a-Family as a family. Providing a holiday meal and gifts for an entire family.

So there are my goals for 2014. I'd love to hear what your goals are.

About Me

Hello and Welcome to Writing Our Own Playbook!

I am Kala! I am a twenty-something working mother and wife. We live a busy, chaotic life but I wouldn't have it any other way. I started this blog as a way to show how we "attempting" to write the playbook on being parents, working, and having it all. Although being a wife and a mother are the best jobs in the world, I am also a pr professional 8-5 ( well sort of). There is no such thing as 8-5 when you work in the pr field. When I am not working I enjoying traveling, doing DIY projects/ crafts, writing, organizing, spending time with my family and our dog and saving money.

As a family, we live by the four F philosophy: Faith, Family, Friends and Football. Each of these are important to us and guide how and what we do with our life.

I'm glad you've stopped by. I hope you enjoy what you read.
