One of my goals has always been to offer tips for others to save money. About a year and a half ago I stumbled on the Target Red Card. I had previously always stayed away because I thought it was just a credit card and I DID NOT want another credit card. Then I realized that you could tie your debit card to the red card. Earn the same benefits but not have a credit card. Why wouldn't you sign up. So I did. Here are some of the great benefits I enjoy:

2015 Goals
I start each year by reflecting on the past year and setting new goals for the different areas of my life. I don't really like to call them resolutions. There really isn't anything that different from December 31st and January 1st other than that they come from two different calendar years.
My goals for 2015:
My goals for 2015:
- Follow the Dave Ramsey Financial guidelines more closely. One of our long term goals is to be debt free. We are a long way from it but we are at least making baby steps.
- Finally, finish my thesis and graduate with my Master's degree.
- Be more focused on the here and now. I spend a lot of time planning but I want to make sure I don't miss anything that is happening now.
- Be healthier. This included eating healthier and just living a healthier lifestyle all around.
So there you have it...my big goals for 2015. What are your goals for the year?
Master Bathroom Revamp - Under $120
Over the long weekend, we spent time painting and revamping our master bathroom. We painted (FINALLY! - after nearly 3 years) and redecorated.
Of course if you know me, I wanted the bathroom to look nice, elegant and like a retreat. However, our master bathroom is not huge by any means and I didn't want to spend a fortune.
What Do you Think?
BEFORE
(I forgot to take a before picture so I had to use one from when we moved in).
AFTER
Teal Shower curtain

Shelves above the toilet

Of course we had to have a TV in the bathroom. If you knew my husband you would totally get it (he does home audio video for a living).
Overall, I think it turned out great.
Now for the budget. Can you believe I did the whole bathroom redo for under $120.
The paint was Cathedral Gray by BEHR in a satin interior finish. It was $30 at Home Depot. ($35 minus 5 mail in rebate).

The decor, which included the shelves, the items on the shelves, new bathroom rug, shower curtain trash can, toothbrush holder and soap dispenser purchased at Target, and At home.
Overall, I am very pleased with how it turned out and that we stayed within budget.
Car Seat Deals at Target
Anyone who is in the market for a car seat will love this deal!
Target currently has several car seats on sale. In addition they have a cartwheel for an additional 20%. Plus, you can get an additional 5% off with a target red card.
I bought one yesterday and spent 127.99 on a $200 car seat. Score!
I've been waiting all week to go to Babies R Us for their trade in event but this deal actually ended up being better.
Hope you can find a great deals as well.

Free Budgeting Tool from Dave Ramsey
If you remember me talking about my goals for 2014, I want to take the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University. I love Dave Ramsey's teaching on money management and budgeting. I am working really hard to integrate more of them into our household. Right now, Dave is offering a free download of his budgeting guide. This is a great way to start thinking about how to have financial peace in your house.
